Japan, this country is being intensively looking for ways to raise the birth rate. Reported by the Telegraph, a study states Japan as the country with the oldest population in the world and low birth rates. The government is also trying to promote marriage and parental care.

Recent survey results of those unmarried at the age of 18 to 34 years found that 42 percent of men and 44.2 percent of single women had never had sex. The study is conducted by the National Institute of Population and Social Security of Japan every five years. This figure increased from the same survey in 2010.

Not only that, it is known that almost 90 percent of respondents said they wanted to get married 'sometime in the future.' 30 percent of 2,706 men and 26 percent of 2,570 women say they are not currently looking for a relationship.

The reason why so low the desire to marry to have offspring is the magnitude of the distance between their ideal desires and the reality.

"They want to marry someday, but they tend to reject it (marriage) because of the distance between their ideal and reality," said Futoshi Ishii, head of the study.
"That's why people get married late or stay alone during their lives, they contribute to low birth rates," he added.
