SGMW Motors Indonesia (Wuling) is in installments the introduction of the Air EV electric car ahead of its launch which is said to be carried out before the fourth quarter of this year.
The introduction of the Wuling electric car has been carried
out since last year, one of which was at the Gaikindo Indonesia International
Auto Show (GIIAS) in November 2021 using the Baojun Kiwi EV.
Then in June, Wuling introduced a car called the 'Wuling
EV'. Exterior details have been clarified, but the interior and the official
name are still being kept under wraps.
Most recently, Wuling revealed interior specifications and
announced the name of the electric car that will be sold is Air EV. On this
occasion, Wuling also opened an order and revealed the estimated price for the
Jakarta area starting from Rp. 250 million to Rp. 300 million.
This announcement was made on Monday (11/7) to coincide with
the celebration of the fifth anniversary of SGMW Motor Indonesia this year.
According to Wuling Motors Brand and Marketing Director Dian
Asmahani, the announcement of the name Air EV was a warm-up before its official
launch.
"This is a warm-up before launching before Q4 [fourth
quarter]," said Dian.
The fourth quarter means the period from October to
December. This means the official launch of the Air EV will take place no later
than September 31.
Even so, the launch of the Air EV is not predicted to go
that far. There is a possibility that the launch will be carried out at GIIAS
which will be held on 11-22 August 2022.
The Air EV is now available to order, but the official price
will be announced at launch.
There are two variants of the Air EV, namely the Standard
Range whose price is estimated at IDR 250 million and the Long Range of IDR 300
million.
The mileage of this car uses a fully charged 18-27 kWh
battery which is claimed to be 200-300 km.
Enthusiasts can place orders in three ways, namely visiting
one of the 136 Wuling dealers spread across Indonesia, via the wuling.id site,
and through the exclusive e-commerce partner Blibli.
Especially for consumers who order during the period from July 11 to August 10, 2022, they will get two benefits, namely getting Non-CO2 mileage incentives for 6 months and an exclusive badge.
There are six colors of Air EV, namely peach pink, pristine
white, galaxy blue, avocado green, and lemon yellow.
