The British pilgrim Adam Muhammad fulfilled his vow of pilgrimage to Mecca by walking across continents, and has now arrived in Mecca, as reported by Arab News, Wednesday (6/7/2022).
The 52-year-old pilgrim traveled through the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan to reach Saudi Arabia, covering nearly 6,500 kilometers in 11 months and 26 days.
Adam walked an average of 17.8 km a day and reached the Ayesha Mosque in Makkah on June 26.
A large crowd of pilgrims, local Saudis and their two daughters who had flown in from the UK, greeted him upon his arrival in the holy city of Makkah.
Adam Muhammad said, “I am very happy to have completed my journey and I have received a tremendous welcome, generosity and love from the Saudi people and pilgrims of other nations. I really want to perform Hajj because Hajj is my biggest dream.”
He then talked about what he would do when he stood on Mount Arafat.

This was not an easy journey for me, but I had to sacrifice everything for the sake of Allah and humanity.
"I've been busy reading the Koran since the restrictions were put in place after the coronavirus pandemic (in 2020). Suddenly, one day I woke up and something inside of me told me to go to Makkah on foot from my house. I couldn't ignore this voice and decided to do it."
Adam Muhammad, 52, departed from Wolverhampton, where he lives, on August 1, 2021, aiming to reach Makkah before the pilgrimage begins in July 2022.
“One day I just woke up and I said I was going to walk towards Hajj, towards Mecca, that's what I did, and prayed on the way asking Allah to grant us mercy and forgiveness for us as human beings, all of us, not just one race, or one identity, or one faith, (but) everyone," Mohamad told Arab News before leaving.
It took him only two months to prepare for the arduous journey with help from British organizations and donations from his compatriots.

Muhammad used carts weighing up to 250 kilograms to store his personal belongings. “Actually, I built it myself. That's where I eat, sleep and cook for the rest of the trip."
He told Arab News that, apart from weather and travel, he did not face any other challenges or problems on his trip to Makkah.
“There were no major difficulties, except for a few stops by the police authorities in several countries to inquire about my whereabouts in their country. But they were surprised to learn about my unique journey.”
Many people came forward to help him during this journey, with some pushing trolleys and others offering food and a place to rest.
She documents and livestreams her experiences through her channels on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, while also using her platform to spread messages of peace and equality.
Even with 2.8 million likes on TikTok, Mohammad says his journey is not for fame but for worship and religion.
