VILLAGE with a beautiful view and has road access for cars is customary. But what if the village doesn't have road access for four wheels? Not making it up, this village can be found in Balapulang District.

Namely Sangkanjaya Village, which is located beside the Gung river, has only one access road in and out of the village and can only be passed by two-wheeled vehicles or motorbikes.

To be able to go to Sangkanjaya Village, Balapulang District, Tegal Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. have to cross a 150 meter long plank suspension bridge that spans the river Gung. The bridge is the only way to Sangkanjaya Village.

Arriving at Sangkanjaya Village, you can see many nice lined houses, but none of them has a car garage. What you can see is a motorcycle storage area. The access road to the paved village is slightly up.

"Sangkanjaya Village only has approximately 300 houses and 325 families and only 1 RW and 3 RT. The majority of residents here migrate and farm. The houses here do not have a place or car garage space. In other villages, many of the houses have car garages, ”said Secretary of Sangkanjaya Village Abdul Mubarok at the panturapost, Wednesday (19/8/2020).

According to him, in Sangkanjaya Village there is only one access route in and out of the village, namely the route via a suspension bridge between the connections of Danawarih and Sangkanjaya Villages. The suspension bridge access can only be accessed by two-wheeled vehicles or motorbikes.

So, whatever the activities of the residents of Sangkanjaya Village, if you want to go out, you have to ride a motorbike. However, that does not mean that none of the villagers have four-wheeled vehicles or cars. Some have a car, but the car cannot be parked in front of the house but in a neighboring village.

“The residents who own the car park them at the houses of the Danawarih villagers. Because the road or road access to Sangkanjaya Village cannot be passed by car. The parking fee in one month is Rp. 500 thousand, "he said.

“Most of those who have four-wheeled vehicles or cars have migrated outside the region. When returning to the village, the car is parked at the residents' houses or neighboring villages and on to Sangkanjaya village by motorcycle, ”he added.

Mubarok said that the car that had entered Sangkanjaya Village only once. At that time there was a TMMD construction from Danareja Village towards Sangkajaya Village. However, the road is now completely impassable by vehicles. And until now there have been no more cars entering the village.

The absence of road access for four-wheeled vehicles makes it difficult for residents to build houses. The equipment and raw materials can only reach the suspension bridge. And from the suspension bridge to the village it is transported by motorbike.

Meanwhile, H. Abulrohim (56), a native of Sangkanjaya Village, said that long ago, when he was about to go to elementary school in Danawarih Village, he covered the river with bamboo. But after there was a suspension bridge in the 1990s, residents could use two-wheeled activities.

"So if you see there are motorbikes on the suspension bridge that have been modified, such as carrying lots of rice, cabinets, cement or other things, it is not strange anymore. Because, whatever items people buy, they must be carried by motorbikes. Not by car, "he said. (*)

Viral videos for bikes that are faster without pedaling, this explains the physicist

A video showing a group of people cycling on the road circulated on social media Twitter. Something different, in the video uploaded to the @semestasains account on Saturday (8/22/2020), one of the cyclists suddenly changed his bicycle style.

The cyclist is no longer pedaling his bicycle, but instead slumps over on the saddle of the bicycle, much like the superhero character Superman is flying. Although not pedaled, the bicycle he was riding on actually went faster and overtook the other cyclists. The video has been liked by more than 5,100 Twitter users and commented on by 1,500 netizens.

Some netizens who commented said that this phenomenon could occur because the cyclist was crossing the downhill road, so that it could go faster. Account

@semestasains said that this happened because the Superman-style cyclist went faster because he understood the basic laws of aerodynamics. However, is that true?

Explanation of Physicist Professor of Theoretical Physics of FMIPA-IPB, Husin Alatas, said that the Superman-style cyclist can be faster because the air pressure between the front and rear of the bicycle becomes smaller. Cyclists who position themselves horizontally, he said, reduce air drag.

Husin said this was possible because the airflow around the bicycle and the cyclist's body was relatively not much difference between the front of the bike and the back. "Based on the observed phenomenon, it appears that a large reduction in air drag significantly changes the momentum of the bicycle," said Husin when contacted by Kompas.com.

"Even though the bicycle is no longer pedaled and the torque forces that contribute to wheel rotation only come from the gravitational force due to the slope of the road," he added.

In physics, the quantity of motion is determined by a quantity called momentum, which depends on the mass of the bicycle plus the cyclist, as well as the speed.

Husin explained that the momentum of the bicycle is influenced by the forces acting on it.

There are several forces that work, including the gravitational force due to the downhill road, the thrust from the cyclist, the air drag which is influenced by the bicycle structure and the body position of the cyclist, and the friction between the bicycle and the road.

"Particularly with air drag, it appears because of the difference in air pressure at the front which is bigger than the rear of the bicycle due to the difference in air density between the two parts," said Husin.
